OUR STORY
Since 1962, the Didsbury Figure Skating Club (DFSC) has been at the heart of our community, helping skaters of all ages discover the joy, discipline, and creativity of figure skating. What began as a small-town club has grown into a vibrant, welcoming space where skaters can dream big and glide even farther.
In 1962, DFSC officially joined Skate Canada, the national governing body for figure skating in Canada. This affiliation provided our skaters with access to standardized, high-quality programming, skilled coaching, and a clear path for progression—whether skating recreationally or competitively.
In 1988, DFSC took another important step by incorporating under the Societies Act of Alberta, formalizing its commitment to the community and ensuring strong, sustainable governance for the future.
Over the decades, the club has evolved, but our values have stayed the same: inclusivity, skill development, sportsmanship, and fun. Our programs are designed to meet skaters where they are—whether they're stepping on the ice for the first time or preparing for high-level tests and competitions. We are proud to support skaters through Learn-to-Skate, StarSkate, Synchro, and off-ice training, all led by certified, passionate coaches.
More than just a skating club, DFSC is a place where friendships are formed, confidence is built, and lifelong memories are made. Our annual ice shows, test days, and community events bring skaters, families, and supporters together to celebrate achievements big and small.
